Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Daffodil Appeal

Lions Clubs in the UK have recently raised £130,111 towards the Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Daffodil Appeal. Over 200 clubs came forward to offer help with the collections which were predominately at Tesco stores throughout the UK.

Spokesperson for the Marie Curie organisation Sophie Kinsman, Community Fundraising Development Manager, said,I hope you agree what a wonderful contribution this is to Marie Curie Cancer Care in our 60^th anniversary year and we pass on our heartfelt thanks to Lions for the help and support given.

You have certainly helped us achieve our objective of raising £1/2 million from the Tesco collections on 29 February and 1 March. In fact, without this help, we would not have achieved our target and so your support was absolutely vital. As a whole, we have raised £1.39m from our Great Daffodil Appeal collections this year. Lions Clubs International volunteering has raised very almost one tenth of this. What a result.
