Lions Provide Teddy Bears

The Lions Club of Launceston recently served the community by providing a repeat supply of comfort stress toys to the West Country Ambulance Service.

This volunteer activityhas brought comfort and help to many as every child who is admitted by ambulance receives the teddy gift. To theLions this is another welcome service project which is of benefit to the community. It is necessary as many of the children have to makea journey of 25 miles or more to reach hospital.

Lion Christine Rowe of Launceston Lions Club saidthis week, “Lions are always looking for ways to help others, especially in the community. This was one way that we could help in what can be a very stressful situation both for children and their families. Our first presentation of teddy’s was so successful that we decided to repeat with a follow up of a further presentation of 150". The ambulance crews have said how delighted they are to be able to present the toys and how much pleasure they bring to the little passengers.
